whatsupwiththat. He reflects on the Lisbon workshop, and you can read his lecture at the public event at the Fundação Gulbenkian. Judith Curry has an excellent summary of Jerry Ravetz' post on climate Etc; as usual with highly interesting comments. In my opinion, Jerry does a great job in addressing the gridlocks and fights in the climate debate. He really adds something to the debate and thus maybe helps to shift debate on to another level.
Maybe it's because he comes from outside of climate science that he can remind the combatants that there is more at stake than skeptics versus alarmists. He picks up the story of one of Judtih Curry's students who was shocked by the intrigues and hypocrisies surrounding climategate and other scandals. This is a responsibility, too. Climate scientists should be more responsible (and proud) of their own science. You can read my own comment in the previous thread (comment #2), addressing the conflict from a Freudian perspective.
